Prof Miles Davenport

Miles Davenport leads the Infection Analytics Program at the Kirby Institute at UNSW Sydney. He trained in clinical medicine and experimental immunology before switching his focus to statistics and modelling in infectious diseases. His team of applied mathematicians and evidence specialists combine pre-clinical and clinical data to understand vaccination and immunity. His team’s work on correlates of protection for SARS-CoV-2 and mpox has informed vaccine approval and public health policy internationally. He has a wide variety of clinical and experimental collaborations both within Australia and overseas. He is a past-President of the Australasian Society for Immunology, past Section Editor at Journal of Immunology and past Senior Editor at eLife. He currently co-leads the FEEVA project aiming to develop a consensus framework for assessment of preclinical evidence of vaccine effectiveness.
